  • Gurney Paragon Mall is a brand new luxury commercial, tertiary and residential complex on Penang’s famous Gurney Drive.
    Pedestrian movements between the different platforms are ensured via a network of external escalators, which have been shrewdly clad with screens made of Soltis FT 381 material: Serge Ferrari’s facade screen that enhances the energy performance of buildings, asserts their architectural identity and ensures the public’s comfort in terms of heat and light.

    Multimedia Engineering Pte Ltd conceived an amazing set of panels; its functionality and aesthetics embodying a double added value.

    A sustainable solution to thermal and visual protection

    600 m² of Soltis FT 381 openwork composite membrane were tensioned on aluminium frames. The lightweight, robust system was custom-designed and easy to install. The Serge Ferrari Soltis FT membrane, composed of high-tenacity polyester yarn stronger than steel wire of the same diameter, was manufactured based on Précontraint Serge Ferrari patented technology, which ensures its excellent dimensional stability, high structural strength and absolute flatness.
    With its 28% porosity, Soltis FT 381 composite membrane transmits exactly the right amount of natural light and ensures perfect outward visibility, while limiting the effects of glare and enclosure. It blocks up to 81% of the sun’s heat (depending on the colours used) and resists climatic attack (wind – rain) in the long term.

    A bold choice underpinning aesthetics

    Multimedia Engineering Pte Ltd. opted for the Rouge Pourpre [Purple Red] colour in the palette of 27 contemporary colours available (including pearl and metal aspects). The membrane therefore contributes to asserting the personality of the structure, as desired by the designer, while ensuring lightness and total harmony with the building.
    Modern and dynamic, the large size panels are durably installed without deformation: no re-tensioning is required. Soltis FT 381 allies aesthetics, colourfastness to UV radiation and easy upkeep.

    Moreover, Soltis FT 381 is 100% recyclable through the Texyloop network.
