Serge Ferrari Group, partner of the globally acclaimed furniture brands, was keen to associate with France Design and offer its material support to Normal Studio for the scenography at the Talents & Economy exhibition, which will present 80 to 100 exhibits from different business sectors reflecting the very best of French design.
Normal Studio’s scenography for the Talents & Economy exhibition is embodied by a monumental suspension composed from 800 m² of three company’s emblematic products:
- Black and white Précontraint, a flexible composite material developed for architecture by the Serge Ferrari Group and which is a feature of very many applications worldwide,
- Blue and aluminium Soltis, a material specially designed for solar protection,
- Black Batyline, the open weave fabric recommended for top quality outdoor and indoor furniture.
“The variety of Serge Ferrari product ranges and technical characteristics make them a wonderful source of inspiration for a scenographic creation”, explains Eloi Chafaï of Normal Studio. “Our choice was structured around the qualities of transparency, weft and light embodied by certain references”. The outcome?…. Creation of a huge 28 x 3 metre lighting unit suspended above the objects presented at the exhibition. This lighting unit structures and scenographically enhances the space by its sheer size and by the light it generates. The lightness of these flexible materials ensures tremendous freedom of implementation.
“Partnering France Design through our know-how makes a great deal of sense for our company” emphasises Bénédicte Ferrari. “France has many assets and our co-operations with architects and designers are ever more numerous, as can henceforth be discovered at our new showroom opened last January in Paris. It appeared important to be able to provide a material that only we are capable of internally recycling to produce raw material for this large size, ephemeral installation.”
