  • Serge Ferrari Précontraint 1202 S2 composite membrane is impervious, corrosion-proof, aesthetic and durable….. unequalled characteristics that enable it to contain efficiently olfactory, gaseous and noise emissions from the Saudrune SIVOM composting facility, whose overall design is based on HEQ construction principles (recyclable materials, energy savings, etc.).

    Since 2006, the site accommodates a keynote installation that facilitates the environmentally sustainable conversion process and improves its reliability. The composting unit processes sludge from the local sewage treatment facility. After incorporation with green waste, this sludge is treated and then converted into a natural fertilizer with a high agronomic potential.

    Innovative architecture

    The plant’s metal-textile structure represents a break-through in France. It is in fact reversed: the galvanised steel tubular part is externally located to prevent risks of corrosion associated with internal gas emissions.
    The ovoid steel structure weighs 33 tonnes, while the 2,000 m² of Serge Ferrari composite membrane weigh only 3 tonnes (180 HF welded pannels, 3 km of welds). This composite structure can resist 160 km/h winds!
    TextiDome, an exclusive Prat SA design, has already been used on a number of sites worldwide.

    Environmental impact reductions

    The Précontraint 1202 S2 membrane forms an impenetrable wall, which ensures containment of noise, odours and gases. Yet, imperviousness is not synonymous with opaqueness and the Serge Ferrari Précontraint 1202 S2 material is effectively outstanding due to its translucence, which ensures the ideal light contribution for reconciling energy savings and working comfort.
    Moreover, emanation curtailment contributes to reducing environmental pollution, conserving non-renewable natural resources (water, air, etc.) and creating new resources (compost for enriching the soil in fields and green spaces).
    Environmental impacts are thereby better controlled and, all the more so, since at the end of its life, the Précontraint 1202 S2 membrane can be completely integrated into Serge Ferrari’s  operational recycling chain Texyloop, which also registers in this virtuous loop.

Deformation resistance in the weft direction exceeds that of conventional coated fabrics. This exclusive advantage is very important during textile tensioning.

    Enhanced durability
    Material lightness during handling is an important criteria in facilitating making up and installation. Précontraint Serge Ferrari technology ensures this lightness, whilst guaranteeing a thicker coating layer at the top of the yarns. The polyester base cloth is therefore better protected against climatic conditions.
